Magnum P.I. season 2 episode 17 is coming on Friday on CBS, with the title "The Night Has Eyes." While Magnum and Higgins take on a new case within this episode, there's some serious concern when it comes to Higgins' future. The situation could lead her and Magnum to officially getting married.
The previous episode saw Magnum and Higgins pretending to be a couple and go undercover to investigate a case. Now, based on the sneak peek of Magnum P.I. season 2 episode 17, it seems like they need to actually tie the knot in an official capacity.
Although there may not be feelings involved, they still recognized that they need to be loyal and devoted to one another. Their partnership is important to them -- both professionally and preserving the life they have. But, why these two need to get married in the upcoming episode?
The promo of Magnum P.I. season 2 episode 17 hints that Higgin's visa is expiring, so Magnum suggests they need to get married so she could stick around. This is surprising, but this may be the only option for Higgins to stay in the country.
Higgins is close to being barred from the United States for three years, and she's now running out of options. She's been denied an extension on her visa and close to overstaying beyond 180 days. It looks like Higgins only has two weeks to sort this thing out, or else, she may need to leave the country.
So, Magnum suggests they should get married, something that he brings up for the first time. He's aware that this might be the only option for Higgins, and that it could help her get a green card. However, it seems like Higgins isn't open to the idea.
She recognized that it's illegal to marry someone for a green card, as it could cause her legal trouble. This is something that may continue moving forward, since it may not be resolved within one episode. Perhaps, there may find another way for her to stay, or may finally agree to get married if there's no option left.
If ever they get married, they'll probably realize they have some feelings toward each other -- beyond platonic. Their situation could probably force them to think about their true feeling and may consider an actual future together.
