Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be confined inside their new home in Los Angeles, but they are thinking of ways to help others. Although some may believe that they are now having the best time, spending their quarantine life with their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, a source revealed they feel helpless and want to extend a hand to people in need in their community.
"[Meghan and Harry] felt helpless reading about everything going on and wanted to get out and contribute," an insider told People. So, they made a way to find an organization that would let them help others. Fortuantely, Project Angel Food came to be the perfect fit.
On Easter, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle collaborated with the said cause to deliver food to people with critical illness in Los Angeles. Project Angel Food is a known organization that cooks, prepares, and provides meals to sick people, who are considered to be at high risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The source added that in this time of crisis and the nationwide lockdown, the couple only leaves their home for charity work. Before they hopped on their car to do their philanthropic works, they first got a tour of the foundation's facility.
Here, Project Angel Food executive director told the publication that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were both interested in every single person they met. They asked a lot of questions about their clients, how they prepare food, and how many meals they make in a day.
They also talked about how the food is medically prepared to suit each client's needs. So to start their task, the Sussexes met with their chefs, learned their social distancing protocols, wore their gloves, and kept their distance to be six feet away.
According to 9Honey, since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and finished all their royal engagements as full-time working royals, they were only seen twice in public -- when they were doing their charity works. With the current pandemic, the former actress continued her charity works virtually, making a video call conference with the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen through Zoom.
She congratulated the group, who she previously collaborated with for her 2018 cookbook, for their relief efforts in this challenging time. Meghan Markle also commended their work for inspiring a lot of people for everything they do.
Prince Harry, on the other hand, also had a video chat with the charity WellChild to show his support to parents who look after their sick child. The Duke of Sussex encourages them to keep their morale amid the global health crisis.
