The royal family members are famously known for their royal titles. There are duke, duchess, countess, prince, earl, and many more. But did you know that behind closed doors, they also have funny nicknames that nobody will think that they will use? Take a look at these hilarious names they named each other.

Meghan Markle

She may be a new member, but she already has a name that they dearly call her. According to Hello! Magazine, Prince Harry named his wife, "Meg," short for Meghan. In the text messages the Prince of Wales sent to the Duchess of Sussex's father, Thomas Markle, in the court documents Meghan Markle filed against Associated Newspapers, it was seen that he called her Meg.

Prince Harry

If Prince Harry has a nickname for Meghan Markle, of course, she has a moniker for him, too. In an interview with Tom Bradby in the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that she affectionately calls her husband by his first initial, "H."

Kate Middleton

As the future queen consort, Kate Middleton is named "princess-in-waiting." The nickname that her classmates called her when they were still at Marlborough College was seemed to be so spot-on. Reader's Digest noted that they named her that even before she met Prince William.

So why did they call her that? It's because she seems to be a real princess, from her name to her grace to her fashion.

In addition, when she was a young girl, Kate Middleton was also called Squeak, a nickname she shared with one of her guinea pigs. One of her pets was called Pip, short for Pippa, her sister, while the other one was Squeak.

Prince William

Prince William once used a nickname to protect his real identity. When he was still at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, he used to be known as Steve. Luckily, he successfully managed to use that name for a long while without being recognized.

Queen Elizabeth II

You'll surely be surprised to know that Prince Philip calls Queen Elizabeth II cabbage. The funny nickname was even heard in the 2006 movie The Queen. Her other nickname when she was young was Tillabet.

Her Majesty used that nickname herself. As she grew older, Tillabet turned to be Lilibet, which some of her close friends and family members still use to call her today.
