Seungri may have announced his retirement from being a celebrity but BIGBANG leader G-Dragon's recent Instagram post hinted that the remaining members have not forgotten him.

According to a report by Kpopstarz, G-Dragon recently posted a meaningful image on his Instagram depicting an art piece from BIGBANG's YouTube show Run BIGBANG Scout which was simply captioned: Boys.

The post may have been simple but VIPs remembered what G-Dragon said during the episode: "BIGBANG is 5. BIGBANG will always be 5."

Run, BIGBANG Scout was one of the last series that featured the complete line up including, T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri before the members enlisted in the military. The message was in reference to the members parting ways due to  enlistment but  it turned out that it had a lot more meaning after the challenges that the group has weathered in the past years.

The past two years have been tough on BIGBANG as the group weathered one scandal after another.

Eldest member T.O.P was the first to be involved in a marijuana scandal for his alleged drug use before enlistment. He was later given a 10-month suspended jail sentence for drug use after he acknowledged his guilt and repented for his errors. He completed his mandatory enlistment peacefully and was discharged last July.

Daesung was also briefly caught in a controversy after a Gangnam building he owned was found to be housing adult entertainment establishments. He was later cleared of suspicion on the illegal businesses operating in his property, Soompi reported.

However, Seungri's case, which is now being handled by the military court, involved one of the biggest scandals in Kpop history and forced the BIGBANG maknae to retire from the industry entirely after his alleged role in facilitating prostitution, illegal gambling, and other issues about the Burning Sun scandal. Seungri recently enlisted for mandatory service, SCMP reported.

Despite the negative publicity that happened while the members were enlisted, G-Dragon's post seemed to hint that despite the setbacks, BIGBANG members will always be friends. Solid VIPs saw this as an indication that even if BIGBANG continues with only the OT4, members will not dismiss their memories with their youngest member Seungri.

Fans said that they got G-Dragon's message loud and clear, that BIGBANG will always be 5.  They also said that the artwork in GD's home means so much to the fandom that cherishes all of the members through good times and bad.

It can be recalled that all four remaining members of BIGBANG have renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment with plans of a comeback reported this year, BIGBANG was set to return to the stage for this year's Coachella Music Festival but Coronavirus concerns resulted in the postponement of the show until October.
