It was BTS maknae Jungkook who said that his ideal type was IU but it turns out his hyung Suga will be the one to collaborate with the singer for her upcoming comeback.

According to a report by Soompi, IU's agency EDAM Entertainment has confirmed that the singer will make a comeback next month through a digital single to be released on May 6. The agency also confirmed that she will be releasing a music video in time with the single as a double treat to her fans.

However, what made the fans doubly excited about the news was BTS' Suga's participation in the single, which is expected to add a different type of flavor to IU's music.

Both talented singer-songwriters, fans are already anticipating an explosive collaboration between the BTS rapper and the singer.

"As musicians of the same age, the two singers were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. They created their unique synergy, which is reflected in their song," EDAM Entertainment announced.

EDAM Entertainment also announced that IU has completed filming her new music video and it is only waiting to be released. They confirmed that IU was very hands-on with the production from composing the music and lyrics to mapping out the single's concept.

It comes as no surprise that countless artists are hoping to collaborate with BTS' Suga. It can be recalled that apart from her collaboration with BTS for Boy with Luv, American singer Halsey also collaborated with Suga for Suga's Interlude, one of the songs on her Manic studio album.

She said that she had to work with Suga because she was blown away by the lyrics on his solo mixtape Agust D.

"I spent time with them and got to know a lot of them on an individual level.  I was looking up lyric translations and I was blown away. I was like, 'This stuff is so introspective.' The content is about mental health and his inner turmoil, and he's a really quiet guy in real life, and I was just moved," she said in an interview with Teen Vogue

IU, for her part, also likes introducing new aspects to her music and is open to collaborating with different artists. She previously collaborated with the likes of G-Dragon, Seo Taiji, Kim Chang Wan, Oh Hyuk, Ullaa Session, Hyung Don, and Dae Joon, as well as the late Jonghyun of SHINEE, Soompi reported.
