It seems like the Coronavirus outbreak has caused the delay of just about every Marvel Cinematic Universe film that is scheduled for the future. For instance, Black Widow has been pushed back from its May premiere and is now expected to hit theaters in November this year. However, it looks like there is at least one Marvel movie that has not been affected by COVID-19. A new report confirms that Thor: Love and Thunder will be getting an earlier release date in 2022.

The fourth Thor film was initially scheduled for release on February 18, 2022. However, a new report from Deadline reveals that Thor: Love and Thunder will now be hitting theaters a week early on February 11, 2022. This puts the MCU movie at an interesting new schedule as it is now set to premiere in time for the pre-Valentines weekend on that year. In addition to that, it's thrilling news for fans as the wait for the next Thor film will at least be a week shorter than expected.

Thor: Love and Thunder is the only MCU flick so far that is getting an earlier release date. In the same report, it was confirmed that the still-untitled Spider-Man 3, which was already expected to premiere on July 16, 2021, will be pushed back several months on the same year. The Tom Holland movie has now been given a new release date on November 5, 2021. Unfortunately, this means that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was the film that was supposed to premiere on that said date, will be moving to a March 25, 2022 release.

Thor: Love and Thunder was officially announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, where it was also confirmed that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi will helm and write the screenplay the highly anticipated sequel. In addition to that, Natalie Portman will return as Jane Foster as the character becomes the new God of Thunder. Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as Thor while Tessa Thompson is also expected to be back as Valkyrie. Additionally, Christian Bale has, reportedly, been cast as the main villain of the film although his character's identity has not yet been revealed.

For now, it has not yet been revealed when Thor: Love and Thunder will begin production. There are speculations that the sequel will start filming as soon as the mandatory COVID-19 quarantine is lifted later this year. The fourth Thor movie is now scheduled for release on February 11, 2022.
