American dancer Cierra Nichols has issued a formal apology to BLACKPINK's Lisa for accusing her of stealing the choreography for the cover of QUIN and 6LACK's Mushroom Chocolate.
On a public post, Nichols extended her apology to Lisa, YG Entertainment, Chesir and Bloc Talent Agency and said that her earlier comments against the BLACKPINK member represented only her own thoughts and not any other entity.
"Being an artist, I feel very deeply for my craft which led me to say things I felt compassionate about, but most certainly could have been better delivered and should not have been delivered when I was emotionally charged and without serious thought put forth before doing so. At this point, I take great responsibility for the aftermath," Nichols said.
She further said that she has learned a valuable lesson in the aftermath of the issue to be mindful of another person's physical and mental well being.
"I've learned a great amount from this experience and that grace and humility is always the answer," she said.
It can be recalled a week ago that BLACKPINK's Lisa released her dance cover of QUIN and 6LACK's Mushroom Chocolate which received massive success on YouTube.
However, Cierra Nichols, on an Instagram Stories post, shaded Lisa for earning 7.8 million views from copying her choreography.
It can be recalled that Cierra Nichols released her dance cover for the same song last March 6. Lisa dropped her dance video through her Lilifil YouTube channel only on April 20.
" In today's episode of 'Let's Steal from Black People' a Korean singer gets 7.8 million views in a day using most of your choreography. Love that for us," Nichols posted on social media, drawing controversy since plagiarism is a hot topic in the Korean entertainment industry, Koreaboo reported.
Fans were quick to defend Lisa and said that a quick side by side comparison of the choreography will be enough to determine that they were not the same.
BLINKs took it upon themselves to defend Lisa against the malicious implication of Cierra's post to which she replied that she wasn't trying to start drama.
Later on, she acknowledged that while there may be come similarity to the movements, Lisa nor her choreographer copied her dance.
Lisa's video is currently on its way to 16 million views while Cierra's video received over 325,000 views. She was also flooded with negative comments after her allegations which promoted her to turn off her comments section. She also received 20,000 dislikes as a result of her earlier allegations.
