Carole Middleton, the mother of Kate Middleton, is also doing her part to contribute to the generosity of the people amid this coronavirus pandemic. She recently donated toys and goodies for children at wards in the NHS hospitals.
The Duchess of Cambridge's mom, who owns Party Pieces, a party supply store, was photographed with the donationsas posted on her business' official Instagram story. Carole tapped Help NHS Heroes for this initiative.
Carole's gesture comes weeks after Prince William and Kate also reached out to the NHS to pour in their support for the frontliners and their family. In the middle of March, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited a South London Hospital to see how the NHS workers are coping amid this public health crisis.
Prince William and Kate have also been in touch with the frontliners, as well as their families and kids, a few more times to ensure that they are getting enough support. The royal couple also launched a mental health initiative, called Our Frontliners, to give medical workers a platform where they can manage the stress of working during a pandemic.
But a week prior to donating the toys, furious clients of Party Pieces went after Kate's mother on social media. Apparently, some of the customers were not pleased about how Carole's business handled their orders.
"We ordered a personalized banner for our son's birthday weeks ago and still haven't received it," the customer posted on the party planning business' Instagram account. "Instead we received another customer's order who lives three hours away and has also had issues with this company. When both the customer whose items I received and I complained, we were promised that new items would be sent out and with us the next day," she added, saying that they never received what was promised.
Soon after, other customers also posted their gripes in the open community. The company said that it is dealing with the complaints of the customers privately. A spokesperson also stated that delivery times have to be adjusted due to the safety measures imposed by the government to slow down virus spread and protect their workers. Thus, there were acknowledge delays.
Party Pieces has been in operation for 30 years but it's unclear how much of the operation is handled by the duchess' mother or father, Michael Middleton. This was not also the first time that the service received poor reviews, according to reports.
