There's a planned documentary series that will, reportedly, chart the mental health struggles of Princess Diana, the late mother of Prince William and Prince Harry. The four-part film is supposed to look at the dark side of her life as a royal and it may end up being streamed on Netflix.
According to reports, the name of the documentary series is tentatively, Being Me: Diana. It will, allegedly, cover the late royal's painful childhood, eating disorders, mental health struggles and her unhappy marriage to the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles.
Apparently, Being Me: Diana will also feature unseen footage of the Princess of Wales. It will have interviews of peoplewho were close to her before she split up with Prince Charles in 1992.
Sources said that the royal family, as well as Princess Diana's family -- the Spencers -- are refusing to take part in the documentary. Prince William and Prince Harry will also likely be very angry and upset over the project, especially Princess Diana's youngest son since Harry has work commitments with Netflix.
Prince Harry is featured in Netflix's Thomas and Friends: The Royal Engine show, which was recorded before the Duke of Sussex stepped back from royal life. But producers of the Diana documentary, however, said that their project is still in the planning stages and Netflix has yet to sign off on it.
"This is a not a commissioned show and everything within the treatment is already in the public domain," said a spokesperson for Endemol Shine, the parent company of the producing studio, DSP.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married in 1981, which was witnessed by 2,000 spectators in London and billions on television. The fairy tale wedding, however, was broken after the couple confirmed through Prime Minister John Major that they have been living separate lives in Kensington Palace. It's been speculated for years that Princess Diana and Prince Charles' didn't get along even in the early years of their marriage. Five years after their separation Princess Diana died in a tragic car accident in France, when her sons were in their teens.
Prince William and Prince Harry were always advocating for mental health since they stepped into their royal roles. The sons of Princess Diana acknowledged that they themselves struggled with managing their emotions and grief, especially after losing their mom at such a young age. However, the royal brothers have not spoken about Princess Diana's alleged mental struggles in interviews.
