Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for almost a decade now. They just recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary inside Anmer Hall amid the pandemic crisis.

In 2011, the Cambridge couple officially tied the knot at Westminster Abbey. The consummation of their dating relationship came after dating for almost a decade.

However, reports noted that prior to the royal born-Prince, the Duchess of Cambridge was dating another college student. Before Prince William, Kate Middleton dated Rupert Finch first.

According to Cheat Sheet, the young William and Kate first met at the University of St Andrew. They, reportedly, have the same circle of friends, and they live in the same dorm houses.

During their first meeting, though, the Duchess was dating a senior from the same university. However, upon Rupert Finch's graduation, they, reportedly, broke up after dating for less than a year.

The publication continued to share that when Prince William learned about the break-up, he had a few thoughts in mind. As per the insider, the young Prince thought that he might "have a go." But, it was not until 2003 when Kate Middleton, reportedly, had her future husband "completely smitten."

According to Grazia, it was late 2003 when the Cambridge couple's friendship "blossomed" into a romantic relationship. Although the links between two were seemingly kept from the public at first, they, reportedly, became "public knowledge" in 2004. As revealed, they were photographed together during a skiing trip to Klosters.

In 2005, Prince William and Kate Middleton graduated together. Photos of the couple were also said to have circulated during that time.

Despite the public's awareness, though, about their relationship, it was only in 2006 when they were seen together on "important events." This, reportedly, caused everyone to conclude that Kate will, "pretty much," become an important part of the British Royal Family.

A year after, however, the couple broke up due to "personal reasons." Nevertheless, it was a brief split from the relationship, which eventually led them to get back together.

Between 2008 and 2010, the publication said that Kate Middleton and Prince William moved in together into their first home. It was, reportedly, a cottage near to the RAF base in Anglesey where the royal born-Prince was relocated. Before the decade ends, though, the Duke of Cambridge finally proposed to the Duchess during their Kenya trip.

To date, they now share three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Two of the royal Cambridge children just also celebrated their birthdays amid the COVID-19 lockdown in the United Kingdom.
