EXO's Baekhyun has dropped the first teaser for his solo comeback, signaling that the release date is just around the corner.

It can be recalled that SM Entertainment confirmed that Baekhyun will make a solo comeback sometime this spring after the success of his solo debut City Lights in July 2019, Soompi reported.

In the teaser image, Baekhyun showed off an edgy vibe compared to the concept of his previous album. It is expected that he will be able to showcase his powerful vocals with his new material. The teaser came as a surprise to fans because it came out at the same time as Baekhyun's 28th birthday.

EXO members will be focusing on solo projects this year with the expected enlistment of four of its members. Suho was the first to release his Solo Portrait album in March of this year to great success. He announced that his enlistment date has been set for next week, on May 14.

Baekhyun is expected to report for mandatory enlistment next after the upcoming solo comeback. Previous EXO members who have enlisted like Xiumin and DO both released solo singles as they temporarily bid farewell to fans to fulfill their civic duty.

Meanwhile, Baekhyun also held a VLive broadcast a day before his birthday to tell fans what EXO members have been up to lately.

He revealed that the EXO members gathered together last week to hang out at Chanyeol's studio, which made fans happy.

He also confided that he would like to challenge himself and step out alone for dinner just to see if anyone recognizes him.

"I want to eat alone at a famous restaurant or a place with a lot of people. I wonder if anyone would recognize me," he said.

While some fans encouraged him to do so, others expressed worry that he might be hurt by a sasaeng fan, which is a big problem of idol groups.

Baekhyun also revealed that he recently moved into his own place and he has been enjoying the process of cleaning his own home. He also tried to do ASMR and showed off his vocals for some song covers as requested by the fans.

Baekhyun has been keeping busy in the past few months with his participation in EXO and SuperM activities. He recently staged an online concert Beyond LIVE to debut Naver's new platform. He will also collaborate with BOL4's on their pre-release track.
