Prince Harry used to hunt animals when he was young, but everything changed today. Since he started dating Meghan Markle, who is known as an avid animal lover, he started stopping doing such activities. New reports even emerged that the Duke of Sussex sold his rifles to please his wife.

Prince Harry put a pair of his handmade hunting rifles for sale as he gives up his much-loved blood sport. After he was famously photographed alongside a dead water buffalo that he had slain in 2005, he now stopped doing this hobby.

Meghan Markle is said to be the reason behind the father-of-one's decision to stop hunting animals. This even led to the selling of his pricey rifles, reportedly worth £50,000, in a private deal some five months ago, Mirror Online noted.

Hence, this happened long before the couple moved to Los Angeles after they stepped down as senior royals in March. The firearms, which are said to be a pair of Purdey, were purchased by an anonymous buyer.

The new owner's friend told The Sun that his pal only bought it because he wanted it and not because it was Prince Harry's. However, he was still quite surprised when he learned who its first owner was. "They are beautiful examples, and he's very pleased with them, but he's not the sort of person who wants to boast about the royal connection," he said.

To recall, the Sussexes' good friend, Conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, earlier revealed that Meghan Markle's husband and his brother, Prince William, used to hunt and shoot. But, Prince Harry had to stop because his wife didn't like hunting.

There were also rumors that during the first Christmas together in 2018, Prince Harry would stop attending the traditional Boxing Day hunt. Palace sources then dismissed the news, saying it was "completely untrue."

Anyhow, the sixth in line to the throne has yet to join his pals at recent game shootings events. So, it is widely believed that he already quit hunting altogether due to the Duchess of Sussex's request, Page Six noted.

The last time he was seen on a wild boar hunt was with his friends in Germany in 2017. At the time, he was already engaged to Meghan Markle. There were also reports that the former actress had to "fake a headache" so that they could avoid hunting at Queen Elizabeth II's annual holiday at Balmoral. Prince Harry, reportedly, learned to hunt when he was just a child.
