Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new book is now the talk of the town. It quickly becomes an Amazon bestseller, so one of its authors, Omid Scobie, now celebrates the victory. The novelist is now excited to talk about the project, so he now gives little details on how they managed to develop the book for the past two years.
Omid Scobie revealed it feels nice to finally be able to talk about Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family. The writer revealed that they have been trying to work on this project quietly for two years, and now they can openly discuss things about it.
In an episode of The Heir Pod, he talked about the book's release. As a British journalist who often joined Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on different royal tours, he revealed their tale included a lot of "twists and turns" that even the Sussexes themselves didn't expect to happen.
"There have been twists and turns that no one expected," he said, as noted as Daily Mail. "This is something no one expected."
Scobie believed that even the Duke and Duchess of Sussex never thought that everything would turn out the way it did. Talking about the book's development, he said that it had been in the making for a long time. It started two years ago, and the past few weeks had been challenging due to the deadline they had to meet.
Allegedly, before the couple moved to North America, they gave Scobie and the book's other author, Carolyn Durand, an interview for the biography. Both journalists are said to be both favored by the two. There were even reports that they detailed their video call to Queen Elizabeth II for her 94th birthday to Scobie.
Now, there are also questions if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did the same thing Princess Diana did when the latter encouraged her friends to talk to her biography, Diana: Her True Story, author, Andrew Morton. In the pre-order post on Amazon, it revealed that Scobie and Durand had the help of people closest to the pair to write the book.
Meanwhile, Express noted that Finding Freedom has now reached the top ten of Amazon's 24-hour bestseller after it becomes available for pre-order. Scobie celebrated the news, saying it was a nice surprise in a Twitter post.
Finding Freedom is set to be out online on Aug. 11, while the book's hardcopy is going to be released on Aug. 20. As early as now, it is expected to be a global bestseller after it comes in the time following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's so-called Megxit.
