Terence Crawford is one of the top boxers in the world today but Bud knows that something is missing in his resume - a fight with eight-time division champion Manny Pacquiao. But the good news is that talks are already underway. There is a possibility that the 32-year-old boxing champion could get that wish following reports that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has held tentative talks.

In a previous post, it was mentioned that Arum was already having discussions for a potential Crawford vs. Pacquiao fight. The 86-year-old promoter admitted that he was previously doubtful that the Filipino boxing icon would be able to survive a fight with Crawford. Seeing how he was able to defeat boxers such as Lucas Matthysse, Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman, Arum feels that now is the right time to make it happen.

For Crawford, it would be a fitting end to his chase for a fight with the Pac-Man. He admits that he has been chasing the Filipino since 2015 but something always stood in the way. It came to a point where he questioned what he lacked to land a blockbuster fight with the boxer-senator.

“Back when I was trying to fight him, he was fighting guys like Brandon Rios, Jessie Vargas, Tim Bradley two more times. I don’t know what it was. I just think they didn’t like my style or whatever it was," Crawford said during an interview with ESPN's Cameron Wolfe via Boxingscene.com.

Crawford is linked not only to Pacquiao. There have been calls for him to meet Errol Spence, someone he feels he could face but not shortly. He singled out how Spence is recovering from an accident in October of last year and believes it would be best for him to work his way back to fighting form before facing him.

Hence, a clash with Pacquiao makes sense although he still has reservations. Aware that Pacquiao is already 41-years-old and could be retiring soon, Bud hopes to be among the last fighters the Filipino pug faces. But for that to happen, he knows that big money needs to be on the table.

“Now that he’s at the last leg of his career, maybe it is about the money. For Pacquiao to get in the ring with me or Errol Spence, he’s going to have to get paid for it,” Crawford said.

Thankfully, talks are already underway. A Crawford vs. Pacquiao clash is expected to bring in revenues. But with the COVID-19 pandemic plaguing the world, even that may need time to make. Hence, the coronavirus is another factor and foe that Crawford may need to worry about moving forward.
