Kate Middleton recently announced her new project, Hold Still, which is a photography competition that features British people's lives amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It seeks to find a hundred portraits that will capture different times of the coronavirus outbreak. Touchingly, she gets the support of Queen Elizabeth II herself and other members of the royal family.

After Kate Middleton's appearance on This Morning to announce her new initiative in collaboration with her patronage, the National Portrait Gallery, Queen Elizabeth showed her support to her granddaughter-in-law on Twitter. Her Majesty herself revealed some information about the competition and invited everyone to join in.

"The Duchess of Cambridge and the @NPGLondon invite you to submit a photograph taken by you during these extraordinary times," the tweet reads. "[It] responds to one of the following themes: "Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal, Acts of Kindness."

Queen Elizabeth isn't the only one who showed her support to Kate Middleton publicly. Princess Eugenie also commended the initiative of Prince William's wife on her Instagram story, via Hello! Magazine. She said it was a brilliant idea to show "acts of kindness, heroes and helpers, and the new normal" in a digital exhibition. She, too, shared how people could take part in it and submit their entries.

According to People, the Duchess of Cambridge talked about her new project on ITV's This Morning. As everyone has heard different stories about the COVID-19 pandemic, from sad to uplifting tales, she hopes Hold Still can bring light to these different narratives.

People have seen incredible images of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.K. So, she wants to share these moments in the time of crisis that everyone is experiencing.

Hold Still has three categories: Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal, and Acts of Kindness. Kate Middleton has been sharing touching images of life in lockdown. One picture that caught her attention was the nurse who had bruises on her face after wearing PPE in Nottinghamshire for a long time.

It was a harrowing image that should be documented at this challenging time to remind everyone of the hard works people on the front line did. Not everyone from home sees these kinds of images, so Hold Still aims to make everyone aware what is happening on the outside.

Kate Middleton launched Hold Still on May 7. The competition will run until June 18, while the submission can be made anytime within the said time period through npg.or.uk.
