Three artists from Cube Entertainment have quietly enlisted for mandatory service, leaving fans waiting for their eventual return to the stage. BTOB's Jyunsik and Sungjae, as well as PENTAGON's Jinho, enlisted today in their different training centers.
According to Cube Entertainment, they have chosen not to make the locations public for the safety of the artists and the fans.With BTOB's Eunkwang recently being discharged with Changsub and Minhyuk following this August and September, fans have been expecting BTOB to make a comeback this year as a complete unit.
However, with news of Hyunsik and Sungjae's enlistment, the remaining members could focus on promoting without the two members or work on solo music.Eunkwang already revealed in a live broadcast that he has already started working on his solo album but he refrained from revealing its actual release date.
Meanwhile, before his enlistment, Sungjae has gifted his fans with a lot of content in preparation for his enlistment. After leaving Master in the House as a regular cast member recently, Sungjae released his solo debut last March 2.
His album entitled Yook O'Clock, in reference to his surname, carried seven tracks including The Wind of the Day. He was also able to complete filming for Ssang Gap Pocha where he will star opposite veteran actors Hwang Jung Eum and Choi Won Yeong.
The comedy-drama is based on an award-winning webtoon that won the Excellence Award at the 2017 Korea Comic Awards. The drama will revolve around a mysterious outdoor drinking establishment run by an eccentric woman and a part-timer who visit customers in their dreams to help them resolve their problems.
"The first episode of 'Ssang Gap Pocha' has been confirmed for Wednesday, May 20. We completed all of the filmings with the goal of pre-production, and we will focus on working out the details to complete the story. Various counseling episodes will be portrayed by actors Hwang Jung Eum, Yook Sungjae, Choi Won Young, Lee Joon Hyuk, Jung Da Eun, and more, so we ask for much interest and love until the premiere," JTBC announced.
Meanwhile, BTOB's Hyunsik also bid farewell to fans and promised to return as a cooler man for their Melody fandom to make them even more proud. He also expressed his trust and support for his members who will be remaining active in the industry.
Cube Entertainment also announced that PENTAGON will continue to compete in Mnet's Road to Kingdom even with Jinho's enlistment.
