Keanu Reeves is, allegedly, taking his romance with Alexandra Grant to the next level. A tabloid reported that the two are preparing for their wedding. Reeves' rep, however, denied the rumor and threatened to take legal action against anyone who spread false information about the John Wick actor.
OK! magazine published a cover story this week with a headline, "Keanu Reeves Finally Engaged" along with a photo insert of the supposed "bride-to-be" Alexandra Grant. The tabloid alleged that Keanu is ready to give love another chance because of the visual artist.
A source of the tabloid claimed the actor started to smile again when he met Alexandra after years of seeming to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders following the death of his girlfriend in 2001. Then OK! stated the tragedies that Reeves experienced in the past such as the birth of his stillborn child in 1999 with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Syme. Two years later, Syme died in a car accident.
The source claimed after those tragedies, the Matrix actor made it clear that he wouldn't fall in love again. But then he met Grant. The insider said the couple is now planning a simple backyard wedding and a honeymoon in Europe.
Reeves' rep, however, denied the wedding rumor. Gossip Cop noted that upon checking into the actor's camp, it revealed that OK! also asked for their comment after the wedding rumor. Keanu's rep denied it and also threatened to take legal action against the tabloid if it continued to publish fabricated stories about the Speed actor.
Gossip Cop also dismissed the report. The publication noted that OK! also failed to mention that Reeves and Syme had split a few weeks after their child was stillborn, but remained friends up until her death.
It also accused OK! of exploiting one's tragedy to fill its pages. Gossip Cop noted that as at the bottom of the tabloid's Reeves story was a list of other celebrities who it claimed to have "found happiness after suffering loss."
Moreover, the "evidence" that the tabloid used to back up its wedding rumor was a picture of Grant supposedly wearing an engagement ring in her Instagram post last month. In the photo, Alexandra was wearing a ring but it doesn't seem to be an engagement ring.
At this point, only Reeves and Grant know the status of their relationship as neither of them has confirmed nor denied anything. In her interview with Vogue Magazine in March, Alexandra did not clarify anything when she was described as Keenu's girlfriend.
