Queen Elizabeth has a special breakfast recipe that has been passed on for generations in the royal family and it is quite easy to make while in coronavirus quarantine. Prince Charles, on the other hand, has a favorite comfort food that's also easy to do especially in these stressful times with the pandemic looming in the air.

The Queen's most coveted recipe is called a "dropped scone," which is actually pancakes made fluffier and thicker. According to reports, Queen Elizabeth made these pancakes herself when U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower visited her in Balmoral in 1959.

Reports have it that Eisenhower loved the pancakes so much that the Queen shared the recipe. She wrote the president a letter and enclosed the ingredients of her special dropped scones, which consisted of flour, caster sugar, milk, eggs, bicarbonate soda, cream of tartar and melted butter.

"The mixture needs a great deal of beating while making, and shouldn't stand about too long before cooking," the Queen wrote in her instructions. Those who have tried the recipe attested that the pancakes make for a filling breakfast.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles recently shared the recipe of his favorite brunch dish, Cheesy Baked Eggs. The heir to throne said that this recipe is the ultimate comfort food and he made it more special because it specifically asks for British cheese.

"By sourcing British cheese from local shops and cheesemongers, and directly from producers online, you can make a vital contribution to keeping these small businesses afloat during the prevailing crisis," Prince Charles posted.

The Prince of Wales apparently has a great love for cheese. Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, spoke about Prince Charles' obsession with cheese during a brief appearance on MasterChef Australia in 2018.

Aside from cheese, Prince Charles also cannot resist eggs and vegetables in his meals. Thus, this Cheesy Baked Eggs recipe is his ultimate favorite dish.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have their personal chefs to make food for them on a whim. However, the royals still love to dabble in the kitchen and cook their own meals, especially when they are staying in the Queen's summer home in Balmoral.

Prince Charles especially takes prides in using fresh ingredients, which are likely harvested from his own farm. He recently also wrote support for local farmers and dairy operators amid this coronavirus pandemic, saying that it's the farmers who have been providing most of the food source when factories are shut down.
