Supergirl season 5 episode 19 is set to arrive later this week on The CW, with the title "Immortal Kombat." This episode serves as the last one this season and it could bring some unexpected moments that would alter the lives of some of the characters in the future.

In Supergirl season 5 episode 19, a major battle with Lex and Leviathan is brewing and Kara needs to do whatever she can to stop their evil plans. She know that there's a way, but in order to do it, she must team up with someone she never thought she could work with again: Lena.

Is there a chane to see Kara and Lena on the same page again? That could be possible, but also comes with complications. The season focused on their irreparable friendship, so this move is quite surprising. Kara wants to stop Lex and Leviathan, but can she also trust Lena and work with her?

That would be the biggest question entering the season finale. And since this is the last episode, for now, prepare for some cliffhangers. While this wasn't meant to be the original conclusion, we could at least get a better sense of what's coming for some of the characters in the future.

It seems like Lex's story may not end within this episode and he's still part of the series moving forward. Jon Cryer, who plays Lex, teased to Entertainment Weekly that the plan to stop him may not happen within this episode. The superheroes may not defeat him -- just yet.

Elsewhere in Supergirl season 5 episode 19, Nia is having the same dream about Brainy. However, she's struggling to figure out what the dreams are trying to tell her. Their relationship has been one of the talking points this season and this episode may shed light on where these two are going.

But beyond the Nia-Brainy relationship, the upcoming episode sees Brainy realizing there's only one way to stop Lex. Meanwhile, CarterMatt also noted that the season finale will once again feature the appearance of Meaghan Rath as a female iteration of Brainiac-5.

This episode proved to be eventful even though it wasn't intended for the season finale. And while some stories may feel unfulfilling, there's still a chance to explore all these in the future. The episodes that weren't aired this season might be added in the sixth installment.

Supergirl season 5 episode 19 airs on Sunday night, May 17, on The CW. The episode is directed by David Harewood, story by Derek Simon, and teleplay by Nicki Holcomb and Emilio Ortego Aldrich.
