Netflix Original, The Crown has become a lot more popular in recent times. Since its emergence on the streaming platform in 2016, it has already received mixed reactions from both the public and experts.

The most recent installment of the show dropped on the platform almost six months ago. But, despite this, it has continued to obtain reactions and comments from several individuals.

According to Express UKSky News hosts, Rowan Dean and Rita Panahi just recently discussed the show on air. As stated, both of the personalities "blasted" and "criticized" The Crown for its "unfair" portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II.

Dean was the one who initially opened up about the Netflix show, as per the report. He reportedly said that the show was "laughable" as it seemingly suggested that the British Monarch "was not bright."

The host then went on to specify that this has "particularly" become more apparent in Oliva Colman's portrayal. As noted, she has played the role of Queen Elizabeth II in the third series of The Crown.

His fellow host, Rita Panahi reportedly agreed to the assertions made toward the show. It was said that she "echoed the sentiments" and claimed that it is very "unfair" to question the British Monarch's "intelligence."

Panahi continued to assert that the Queen is "obviously" an "intelligent woman." She reportedly contended that it was not luck that allowed her to do what she had done for the British Monarchy.

The hosts then went on to argue that the people who have met her, including "world leaders" and "brilliant minds," have not questioned her intelligence. So, it is unfair for some "representations" of her to do this.

On the British Royal Family's part, sources revealed that some members of the family love watching The Crown. These members reportedly included Princess Eugenie, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, and most especially, Queen Elizabeth II.

While this has remained unconfirmed, The Sun UK said that trusted royal insiders attested that the British Monarch was "impressed," especially in the first season of the series. However, the case was different in the following installment.

As per the publication, several royal sources exposed that the Queen became "upset" after witnessing the portrayal of her husband, Prince Philip's character toward the young Prince Charles. It was said that she was "particularly annoyed" when the Duke of Edinburgh was portrayed as an unsympathetic father to the young Charles in The Crown Season 2.
