Princess Beatrice had to postpone her May 29 wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, as the U.K. started easing its safety measures to stop the spread of the virus, could the York royal decide to go ahead with a June ceremony?

According to Yahoo! Life, the U.K. government said that small weddings could soon be underway by June as part of the second phase of their country's reopening plans. This comes after the public, including the royal family, had to forego more than eight weeks of limited activities and events.

Princess Beatrice was forced to cancel her May 29 wedding sometime in March after the government banned large-scale events and only allowed a priest and two witnesses for wedding ceremonies. The daughter of Prince Andrew also had to drop the plans to use the Buckingham Palace gardens for the wedding reception since the facilities had to be shut down until the foreseeable future.

"In line with government advice for the UK and beyond, the couple is reviewing their arrangements for 29th May," the spokesperson for the palace said at that time. Since then, however, Princess Beatrice and Edo haven't made any official announcements but Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and the bride's mother, said that the May 29 wedding will definitely not push through.

A source told People in April that Princess Beatrice and Edo were not yet able to send out their wedding invitations. As the health crisis became critical, close friends said that the York princess and her fiancé decided not to think or plan the wedding since there are far more stressful things happening all over the world.

Princess Beatrice is also not one to reveal too much details about her personal life. Of the York royals, she is most protective of her privacy and haven't really been active on social media or the media spotlight.

It's believed that Princess Beatrice originally wanted to have a low-key wedding to Edo, even before this pandemic struck. Thus, she was fine with celebrating the ceremony in a small chapel and having just barely 200 guests when most royal weddings usually have over 800 or more people.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice has been staying at her house near St. James Palace throughout this coronavirus lockdown. Her parents, Prince Andrew and Fergie, the Duke and Duchess of York, and sister, Princess Eugenie, have been isolating at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
