The second season of The Mandalorian is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events of 2020. After all, the first season concluded with a tease of more adventures involving Din Djarin and Baby Yoda as well as an exciting new development for the villainous Moff Gideon. However, that's not the only thing to look forward to in Season 2 later this year. A new report suggests that the Armorer might actually be a character that fans have already met in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

There is little doubt that the Armorer was one of the most memorable characters in the first season of The Mandalorian. The female Mandalorian was a strong character who was in charge of forging armor and equipment. In addition to that, the Armorer gave a sense of leadership as she was always imposing tradition on the surviving Mandalorians around her. But is it possible that she is actually Bo-Katan Kryze from Star Wars: The Clone Wars?

In the animated series, Bo-Katan Kryze was the leader of the Nite Owls and a former member of the Death Watch of Mandalore. She was the sister of Lady Satine Kryze, the Duchess of Mandalore, and although that meant Bo-Katan could be a political leader, she chose not to pursue this career. Bo-Katan once again played a major role in the final season of The Clone Wars when she recruited Ahsoka Tano to help in the fight against Maul, who had taken over Mandalore after defeating Pre Vizsla. Needless to say, it would make sense if the Armorer in The Mandalorian could actually be revealed as Bo-Katan in Season 2.

Although it would be interesting to see the Armorer being revealed as Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian Season 2, it's also important to remember that the character is already played by a certain actress in the series. Emily Swallow portrays the mysterious female Mandalorian and is expected to return in the second season.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice actress Katee Sackhoff will play the live-action version of Bo-Katan in the Disney+ show. This could mean that the Armorer and Bo-Katan are completely different characters.

The Mandalorian Season 2 was already in production when filming had to be put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak. Nevertheless, it has been confirmed that the show's return will not be delayed because of COVID-19. The second season has not yet been given an official release date although it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in October.
