Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to celebrate their second anniversary. So, with the current COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown, how will the Sussexes mark this incredibly special occasion?
On May 19, it will be already two years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. A lot of people watched the occasion. As their union became an international event, how would they celebrate their anniversary now that they stepped down as senior royals?
According to Celebrity Insider, everything has dramatically changed for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since they got married in 2018. Aside from the coronavirus outbreak that is currently affecting everyone all over the world, they have given up their royal titles.
They decided to step down as senior royals when they dropped their bombshell announcement about the matter in January. Since then, they have moved to Los Angeles from Canada, along with their 1-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle crave to have a normal life, they, too, may celebrate in the simplest way. A source told Hollywood Life that they might mark their second anniversary with a low-key celebration in their L.A. home.
"Meghan and Harry's wedding anniversary is next week, but there aren't any big fancy plans, they are very down to earth," the insider explained. Hence, they may only do things that they want to do on this special day.
"Their favorite thing to do is cook together at home so that will be on the agenda," the source added. Anyhow, the Duke of Sussex may still plan to give his wife something special. As the tipster revealed that he is a very romantic guy, he may gift the Duchess of Sussex jewelry to mark the occasion.
He will surely give her "something thoughtful and tasteful." However, as the couple is not fond of any material things, they may only keep it simple and just spend it on their philanthropic works.
Neither of the two is into collecting anything, so they may celebrate by making an ample donation to their chosen charity in honor of their second anniversary. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been known for their incredible philanthropic works.
This thing is something that they want to continue after they stepped back from their royal duties. To recall, after their much-publicized legal battle with British tabloids and love-and-hate relationship with the media, they decided to step down as senior members of the royal family.
They officially left the monarchy by the end of March and moved to L.A. from Canada. Now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are enjoying their private lives away from the prying eyes of the public, raising their kid, Archie, near her mother's, Doria Ragland, home.
