Tragedy struck the Kingdom of Corea once again while more secrets have been revealed in The King: Eternal Monarch. Things are getting clearer for Lee Gon but his battle has become more complicated now that his traitor uncle has resurfaced. Meanwhile, Detective Jung Tae Eul is in deep trouble in the upcoming The King: The Eternal Monarch Episode Episode 11.
The teaser for Episode 11 featured distress Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) in the street and blood is seen in her hands and clothes. It looks like she is running away from someone or just escaped from somewhere.
Tae Eul may also hurt or kill someone, considering the blood all over her. She tries to call Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) in a telephone booth and tells him that she will try to go to the palace. Tae Eul begs him to look for her.
It is most likely Tae Eul is at Lee Gon's world but it wasn't clear how she gets there. Lee Gon could be bringing her back to his Kingdom in fear that she could be Lee Lim's next target. Another possibility is Lee Lim (Lee Jung Jin) himself took Tae Eul to the other world and the detective managed to escape her captor.
In the previous episode of The King: The Eternal Monarch, Emperor Lee Gon finally confirmed that his traitor uncle is still alive as they came face-to-face during the Lunar New Year celebration. However, he is torn from the reality that he can't bring Lee Lim to justice because no one will believe him that the Prince Imperial Geum, who killed his father, looks the same 25 years after he killed the ruling king.
Instead, Lee Gon decided to track down Lee Lim on his own to protect his kingdom and the throne. To do that, he revealed to Prince Bueyeong (Jeon Moo Song) that Lee Lim is alive and he hasn't aged. As second in line, the King tasks Bueyeong to take charge at the palace while he is away.
Unfortunately, Lee Lim strangled Prince Bueyeong to death. This made Lee Gon, more than ever, to hunt down the kingdom's traitor and his followers.
Meanwhile, Tae Eul and Kang Sin Jae (Kim Kyung Nam) are now working together on the mysterious death cases after the latter realized that Lee Gon's kingdom wasn't a delusion. Tae Eul told him that there is another world where some people in their world also exist.
It is also expected the mystery behind the video of Tae Eul in the year 2022 will also be answered in the upcoming episode. In Episode 9, Lee Gon watched all clips of his girlfriend while she roamed around his kingdom. One of the clips showed Tae Eul wearing a different outfit than in other videos and it has a timestamp "2022-05-27."
The King: The Eternal Monarch Episode 11 airs on May 22 at 10 p.m. KST on SBS. It will also be available on Netflix.
