The Flash season 7 is officially happening on The CW, yet it should be noted it may not be arriving anytime soon due to the current global health crisis. Because of a potential delay, there's a challenge for the creative team and it has something to do with Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost.

Panabaker's Caitlin has been written out in the season 6 finale to accommodate the actress' maternity leave. Her character will be gone for a while when The Flash season 7 arrives, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming may not start anytime soon.

By the time The Flash season 7 starts filming, Panabaker may be able to go back to work as well. Perhaps, the cast and crew could resume working later this year and the actress is also available to return. However, there are some problems when it comes to that particular matter.

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Eric Wallace has something to say about the subject. He said they're in discussion about it, yet they find it a bit tricky. It would be hard to include Caitlin in the early run of The Flash season 7 since there are already written scripts without her presence.

There's a huge chance we'll not be seeing Caitlin one the new season premieres, as it may probably proceed with the already-written scripts. Viewers may have to wait for a while since her return may happen in the middle of the season.

Meanwhile, a lot of stories are coming once The Flash season 7 arrives on The CW. Eva a.k.a. Mirror Mistress is still part of the story, with the season 6 finale showing her escaping the Mirrorverse and killing her husband. She gained more power and is now one of the dangerous foes of Barry.

Also, Iris still in the Mirrorverse. She's in serious danger now since she's been stuck there for too long already. So, while fighting Eva, Barry also needs to save his wife before it's too late. One of the questions here is whether or not Iris becomes the new Mirror Mistress.

Since Iris was gone for a long time, her relationship with Barry will also be affected. Although the two could get a happy ending they deserve, there might be changes between them. Particularly, Iris' time in the Mirrorverse altered her.

As for the release date of The Flash season 7, nothing is certain at the moment. The cast and crew could go back filming as soon as everything gets back to normal. Based on some reports, the series will not be premiering until January 2021.
