America's Got Talent Season 15 begins, but it seems to be a puzzle for some on how it will manage to air amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been known the TV show and movie productions are all stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak, but Simon Cowell seems to find a way how it will continue.

Simon Cowell revealed America's Got Talent Season 15 would work around the shutdown until the nationwide lockdown gets lifted. To recall, it managed to film with a live audience in Pasadena, California, before the government imposed the stay-at-home order.

A few auditions for the new season were taped before the filming officially stopped. Also, it started to accept online submissions of acts done at home. As the live shows are set to occur later this summer, the show's executive producer is determined to air it one way or another.

Simon Cowell told People that people behind America's Got Talent Season 15 worked out about three different scenarios for how they could film the live shows with or without the audience. Fortunately, each of their plans works.

The 60-year-old TV personality knew that they had to make sure that people who auditioned would get the chance to compete as the contestants usually did, win the grand prize, or, at least, appear in the final. As the COVID-19 continuously grapples the country, he is confident that everything will be back to normal one day.

Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara joins America's Got Talent Season 15 as a new judge, replacing Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough. According to Newsweek, Union's exit sparked controversy after her contract was not renewed following her complaints about a racist joke. Allegedly, a showrunner commented that her hairstyles were "too black."

Anyhow, the Modern Family star admitted that she had been a long-time fan of the talent show. Hence, she is beyond thrilled to join the reality series, be one of its judges, and potentially help someone to make their dreams come true.

Just like many other live shows today, America's Got Talent Season 15 has to follow the stay-at-home order and start working-from-home. So, instead of filming at its usual Pasadena Civic Auditorium location in California, some of its parts will air live through web video.

The contestants' acts will be pre-recorded, but the judges' comments will be real-time through live video feeds. America's Got Talent Season 15 begins on Tuesday on NBC.
