It has been two years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. Since then, a lot of things have happened in their lives. From the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, to their so-called Megxit, take a look back to the colorful but controversial marriage life of the Sussexes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot on May 19, 2018. Two years after the much-awaited event, watched by millions of people, a lot has changed.

The couple welcomed their son on May 6, 2019, who just turned year old.

With all the controversies they have been through, rumors have it that they will vacate their position on the monarchy. Earlier this year, they dropped their bombshell announcement, which sparked the so-called Megxit crisis.

After their high-profile wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down as senior royals. They both opened up about their struggles dealing with the royal life and the intense media scrutiny in an ITV documentary last year.

Here, Prince Harry also revealed the rift between him and his brother, Prince William. When they announced their departure, nobody knew--even Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles were surprised.

A summit was then held. The Queen did not approve their request to have dual roles, Mirror Online reported. Hence, they have to leave the monarchy completely.

Now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are living in Los Angeles. They are in the paparazzi capital of the world, where they seek to have more privacy, USA Today noted.

They left the monarchy to be financially independent, and some believe they will capitalize on their fame in Hollywood. The supposed to be faces of the "modern monarchy" are now far away from the royal family.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's rise was phenomenal. His marriage to an American divorcee, who is a biracial, actress, activist, and articulate, seems to prove that the monarchy has modernized. However, things changed and they left.

Meanwhile, in celebration of their second wedding anniversary, according to Page Six, there seemed to be a radio silence from the royal family. No one, not even Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William, or Kate Middleton, greeted them on their social media accounts.

Anyhow, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were believed to enjoy their special day. A source revealed they took a day off and hanged out with their son, Archie, and their dogs at their $18-million home while they remained in lockdown. They lay low, took the day to relax, and just be together without any distractions, keeping it all simple.
