Prince Charles is, allegedly, engaged in a "Battle Royal" with Kate Middleton's mother, Carole Middleton. The two grandparents are said to be fighting over the time spent with their grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Prince Charles, reportedly, feels "edged out" not just by Carole Middleton but by Michael Middleton, too. In a 2016 Daily Mail article, Express noted that royal expert Katie Nicholl believed the Prince of Wales seemed to be jealous of the Middletons.

The Duke of Cornwall, allegedly, feels that Kate Middleton's parents get to spend more time with their grandkids than him. Compared to the time that he could spend with them, he only saw them very rarely, and he seemed to bear a bit of a grudge about that.

Courtiers also said that whenever Carole Middleton arrives at Kensington Palace, she has a "rather grandiose presence." She is also said to be possessive of Prince William, her daughter, and the kids.

Since Prince George was born in 2013, Prince Charles was, reportedly, complaining that they never let him see his firstborn grandson. The senior Middleton was even the one who solely organized the kid's third birthday party in 2016. Anyhow, the future king, along with his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were invited.

At the time, Prince Charles went to celebrate Prince George's birthday, but his wife was not able to go due to prior commitments. However, in the morning before the celebration, Carole and Michael Middleton were busy preparing for the party, such as the food and games, while Charles was in a meeting in Clarence House.

Anyhow, he still managed to squeeze his grandson's birthday in his busy schedule because he did not want to miss the event. But, as the whole thing seemed to be a Middleton event after Carole Middleton prepared the entire thing, it, reportedly, quite upset him.

He felt entirely left out and even got a very little time with his grandchildren. He also seemed to be jealous that Prince William spent more time with Kate Middleton's parents than he did with the royal family.

Meanwhile, in a 2018 report by Vanity Fair, a source said that Carole Middleton was a little hurt wit the rumors that she "elbowed Prince Charles" out of the way when it came to spending time with their grandkids. Indeed, she was a very hands-on grandmother, and the Cambridges saw her valuable help.

However, it was never her intention to offend anyone--not even Prince Charles. She was even quite conscious not to spend a lot of time at the Kensington Palace so that Prince William's father could spend the time he wanted to be with their grandchildren alone.
