Prince William and Kate Middleton have remained active and dedicated to their roles amid the pandemic crisis in the United Kingdom. Despite the need to stay indoors, the royal couple has managed to execute engagements through virtual means inside Anmer Hall.

Since the lockdown, praises and commendations toward the Cambridge couple have been overflowing. Many individuals even, reportedly, deem the Duke and Duchess as the only modern royals who make the British Monarchy more apparent before the public during these trying times.

While their efforts have been largely praised, Marie Claire shared that they are not the only ones that should get the approval and appreciation of many people. As pointed out, they would not be able to carry out their duties amid the crisis if it was not for the assistance and help of their staff and right hand.

However, the publication said that Prince William's Private Secretary, Simon Case has just left the Royal Household for a position at the Cabinet Office. It was said that he is to assume the role of No 10's "permanent secretary" to assist the Government's efforts in fighting the COVID-19 crisis in the country.

In an official statement released from the office of the Prime Minister, the Duke of Cambridge's now-former Private Secretary is "working" on the coronavirus response in Downing Street. He is "coordinating" the response, and will report directly to the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Mark Sedwill, the spokesperson added.

Express UK recently released a similar report. As stated, Simon Case began working for Prince William in July 2018. But, prior to his time in the Royal Household, he, reportedly, held the position of the Director General of Northern Ireland and Ireland, specifically in the "department" for Exiting the EU.

Before taking the position, the publication added that he worked as a "career civil servant." He then became the principal Private Secretary to both former Prime Ministers, David Cameron and Theresa May.

So far, no word has been heard yet from Kensington Palace or Prince William and Kate Middleton. Even so, reports believe that the Duke of Cambridge will continue to do his duties and responsibilities even without a Private Secretary. It was also noted that he is likely to have a new right hand when the COVID-19 crisis becomes "under control."

To date, the United Kingdom stands as the fifth country to have the most number of COVID-19 cases. The total positive cases have now reached over 267,000 with a total of 37,460 deaths.
