Suga’s alter ego Agust D made his epic comeback last week and it was everything that the BTS star’s fans wanted and more. It’s widely known in the fandom that RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had always been hands-on when it comes to their album, performances, etc. and Agust D’s “Daechwita” is no exception.

BANGTANTV recently uploaded Suga’s Agust D “D-2” mixtape interview on Youtube. The BTS rapper shared details about his new project and revealed that he put a lot of input into the “Daechwita” music video.

When asked what he worked the most on when making the music video, Suga said that he worked hard on the script. The BTS star also noted that he insisted on his concept for the “Daechwita” music video despite the director’s idea to make it “minimal.”

“I met with the director a lot from the planning stage,” he said. “They were going to keep it minimal. But I was like ‘whatever I do, I want to film it at a historical drama set.’” And that’s exactly what happened.

Having a historical drama set for a music video is not easy. Not only were the staff obligated to recreate the Joseon dynasty, but the scenes also have to be as authentic as possible. There was also the possibility of rubbing people the wrong way, especially when the King let his long hair down and he had a scar on his face.

Speaking of scar, Suga explained why the king Agust D and the present Agust D have an identical scar on their right eye. The BTS star said that he wanted to have a contrast.

“There are two men with the same scar, but one is a blonde King and the other is another Agust D,” he said. “I thought it’ll be fun to find that contrast.”

Suga added that he was the one who thought of the idea of putting a scar on his character’s face and there was actually no intense meaning behind it. The BTS rapper said that he just wanted it to be “shocking.” “I wanted those watching to go ‘wow!’” he shared, adding that he lost a lot of weight for the surprise factor as well.

But Suga may have gained a couple of pounds on the second day of the shoot as J-Hope sent him a coffee truck filled with teas, coffee, and churros. The “Chicken Noodle Soup” rapper's present was really sweet, but find out the real reason why he went to Suga's set here.
