Matt Damon is about to end his fairytale-like quarantine in the scenic suburb of Ireland. But before the actor and his family travel back to the U.S., Damon made sure that he would bring some Irish baked goods with them.

Damon and his family were reportedly heading back home to the United States after spending the coronavirus lockdown in Dalkey in south Dublin. A local bakeshop, Country Bake, shared a photo of the actor during his last visit to the store.

Apparently, the Bourne Identity actor had become a regular customer of the store over the past two months. The shop owner thanked Damon for bringing "some excitement to Dalkey" during the pandemic.

Many of the comments on Country Bake's post on Facebook wished Matt and his family a safe trip to the U.S. Others thanked the actor for putting Dalkey on the world map.

The Martian actor earlier appeared in a local radio show wherein he shared details on how he and his family ended up quarantining in Ireland. Damon said they arrived in Ireland in mid-March as he was about to film The Last Duel, his upcoming movie with his friend Ben Affleck, in the country. Then Ireland went on lockdown.

The actor confessed that they are loving their stay in Dalkey as the people are friendly and warm to him and his family. Reports have it that the Damons ended up renting out Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine's former bachelor pad in Dalkey.

Matt said they couldn't ask for a better place to get stranded into than Dalkey. He added that they somehow feel guilty because they got the best experience while in quarantine while many around the world are having a hard time.

During his interview with SPIN 1038's Fully Charged, the Ford v Ferrari actor also revealed that his stepdaughter, Alexia, was diagnosed with the coronavirus early on along with her roommates. The 21-year-old is a college student in New York City and Matt said Alexia and her roommates got through the virus and they are all fine now.

Alexia is Matt's wife Luciana Barroso's child from her previous marriage. Matt and Luciana have three children together: Isabella, 13, Gia, 12, and Stella, 9. All three are with them in Ireland.

More recently, the actor surprised local schoolgirls by sharing a video of himself congratulating the graduating class of the secondary school in the area. He also told them that he was "sorry" they had to study and graduate while in quarantine.
