Matt Damon is spending quarantine in the scenic coastal suburb of Dalkey in Dublin, Ireland with his family. The actor has been enjoying their stay in town and the residents of the area have nothing but praises for Damon. However, rumors have it that the actor has been heavily drinking while in quarantine because of boredom.

The Globe published a story this week claiming Damon has been drowning his boredom with local brews. The tabloid alleged the Jason Bourne actor has been consuming at least 10 beers a day and this makes his friends back home worry that he would spiral out of control.

"Matt says beer is his preferred way to relieve boredom. They don't have a lot of visitors but there is the clerk that delivers his Guinness!," a source of the tabloid claimed.

Damon, allegedly, regularly checks in with his friends via video chat and he does it after several drinks. The behavior raised concern to his friends and the tabloid mentioned that one of them is his good pal Ben Affleck.

Gossip Cop debunked the rumor. The publication noted that the drinking rumors about Damon could have been thought by the Globe because of the fact that he and his family are in lockdown in a country that is famous for its beer.

Additionally, a photo of Damon carrying a large shopping bag from a well-known Irish supermarket chain also went viral. That was because netizens speculate that he was carrying a case of beer in his bag.

During his appearance in Ireland's SPIN 1038 Fully Charged radio show, the actor talked about the bag and its content. He said it contained towels because his kids took a dip in the nearby water.

The Martian actor jokingly added that there were probably "cans in there" originally but he had to take them out because there was no longer space for the beach towels. It simply said that he did not bring any drink when they were out on the beach.

Damon and his family ended up quarantining in Ireland after they arrived in the country as the actor was about to film a movie there. Matt said he first shot some scenes of his upcoming movie in France before they moved to Ireland before the lockdown was implemented worldwide.

The Contagion star did not say which movie he is filming but it could be Ridley Scott's The Last Duel along with Affleck, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer. The historical drama-thriller film is set in14th century France.

The cast and crew of The Last Duel started filming in France in mid-February. The production should have begun in Ireland in March but it has been postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus.
