Prince William is the second in the line of succession to the British throne. At a very young age, he was already being prepared for his very important future role.

Unfortunately, Princess Diana didn’t get the chance to see Prince William from his late teenage years until today. The Princess of Wales tragically passed away in 1997 when the Duke of Cambridge was only 15 years old.

Princess Diana had been a huge influence to Prince William and Prince Harry. The People’s Princess showed her boys that they can still live a normal life despite being a member of the Royal Family. The first wife of Prince Charles have ignored several royal protocols for her sons, such as taking them to a secret trip to McDonalds for Happy Meal toys.

Now, Prince William is 37 years old and has a family of his own. The Duke of Cambridge has been married to Kate Middleton for almost a decade and they have three children together, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In a BBC One documentary, Prince William opened up about his struggles to cope the death of Princess Diana at a young age. The Duke of Cambridge shared that the effect on his emotions didn’t stop as it dragged until he became a father. He also had a candid discussion about mental health and moved a lot of people with it.

“Think Princess Diana would have been proud of Prince William in last night's program,” royal author and journalist Phil Dampier said.

Prince William shared the trauma that he endured after losing his mother to former Premier League footballer Marvin Sordell in the documentary. Marvin knew this feeling as his father was absent in his life during his childhood.

The Duke of Cambridge then told Marvin that his father would be “very proud” of him. The former Premier League footballer assured Prince William that Princess Diana would be proud of him too. “I appreciate that,” the future King said.

Just like Princess Diana, Prince William and Kate Middleton are also well-loved by the public. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are two of the most popular members of the Royal Family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s popularity even skyrocketed during the coronavirus pandemic. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been amping up their royal duties while Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles remain in isolation.
