Sony recently confirmed that the heavily rumored Jun 4 PS5 event is indeed happening. According to industry insiders, Sony would announce upcoming PS5 titles at the upcoming event, and some fans believe it might reveal the PS5 gaming console. Sony has not yet confirmed if it is going to announce the PS5, but a new report claims to have seen the design of the Japanese gaming console and shared some of its details.

The latest information about the design of the PS5 came from ResetEra, which spotted the details from the Russian website Gamemag. It looks like the site was provided with some of the deepest secrets of the PS5 by someone involved in its development. The source, as revealed by the Russian site, is still active and, at present, is working on a PS5 title.

The PS5 is not a slim gaming console, according to the site. In terms of its thickness, it is twice as thick as the PS4 Pro. The Russian site Gamemag also revealed that the size of Sony's next-generation gaming console is large to house the working components and to accommodate the ideal cooling solution. In terms of design, it is nothing like Microsoft's Xbox Series X.

Based on the report, the PS5 sports a classic set-top box. It is square and symmetrical in shape with round edges, the site added. It looks like the design of Sony's next-generation gaming console is nothing like the earlier reported leaks. The site further described the PS5 as very fat, which could mean a slimmer gaming console could soon follow.

Apart from this, the Russian site also disclosed that Sony has yet to disclose a couple of features. It added that the Japanese gaming giant would share an 'unusual detail.' While the site did not reveal the details, it said that it claimed that revealing more would enable the company to identify them.

A few weeks earlier, Sony filed a patent about a companion robot that has emotions, among other possible PS5 features. In other PS5 news, Sony confirmed that it is holding a PS5 event on Jun 4, 2020. Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb earlier claimed that Sony might officially unveil the PS5 gaming console earlier than the said event.

If Grubb's prediction is accurate, PS5 fans could see the gaming console anytime between today and Jun 3, 2020. Like all other information, including the design details of the PS5, these are not official. It is safer to take these details with a pinch of salt.
