WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Killing Eve season 3 finale. Read at your own risk.

Killing Eve season 3 finale recently aired and it delivered a different conclusion this time. There isn't a huge cliffhanger for Eve and Villanelle; instead, it goes with an unusual approach. The episode saw the two ladies standing on a bridge together while trying to figure out their future.

Killing Eve season 3 finale is completely different from the previous endings of the preceding installments, as we didn't see Eve and Villanelle trying to kill each other. The scene in a bridge is odd, but touching. It hinted that the two could work together at some point.

Eve had a chance to walk away from Villanelle, but she couldn't do it. Although she turned her back to her, she also knows that something about the latter brings her back even though she's bad for her. Despite the danger and pain, Eve recognized that it's hard to walk away from Villanelle.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Sally Woodward has something to say about this particular ending. She said that what's appealing for both Eve and Villanelle is that they have an honest conversation, which viewers don't often see.

Killing Eve season 3 finale saw Eve telling Villanelle to release her as she can't stop thinking about her, while the latter responds it's easy and all she needs to do is to walk away. The two decided to walk away but they eventually turn around.

Woodward said that Villanelle knows Eve would turn around and look back at her, that's why she also did it. This scene is interesting, as we haven't seen the two trying to stab or shoot each other. It seems like something fundamental may happen to them in the future.

One of the main questions now is whether or not Eve and Villanelle will decide to work together with a unified goal. It would be nice to see them as partners and facing chaos together. After years of trying to kill each other, they may have finally realized they could really team-up.

They recognize that they can't live without each other, even though Eve really wants to do it. Meanwhile, CarterMatt noted that Killing Eve season 3 finale may serve as a series conclusion since it ties a lot of the major loose ends. Yet, this could also set up new stories for the characters.

The series has already been renewed for a fourth season and scripts are reportedly being written. In the same interview, Woodward revealed writers are in the room now and three episodes have been written shortly. As for the potential release day, she noted the show could air sometime in 2021.
