Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used to gain millions of followers on Instagram. But, after they stepped down as senior royals and Sussex Royal is now defunct, they seem to be gradually losing their followers.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lost 200,000 followers after they no longer make any update on their Instagram account. People who used to follow their life through Sussex Royal now dropped to 11.1 million, and it might continuously decrease as time goes by.

When the Sussexes decided to step back from their royal duties to live a more private life in Los Angeles, part of Queen Elizabeth II's deal is to remove their Sussex Royal branding. This includes their Sussex Royal Instagram account, which means they can no longer make any posts on it.

They used to have 11.3 million followers; now, it is down to only 11.1 million. Prince William and Kate Middleton, on the other hand, have 11.4 million followers on Instagram by the end of March, beating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by 100,000.

According to Daily Mail, Kensington Palace recently overtook Sussex Royal in recent months, although it has been on Instagram far longer than the Sussexes. Now, the Cambridges have 11.8 million followers as they continue The Firm's new "scaled back model."

So far, they have posted more than 2,000 updates on Instagram, while the Sussexes only have over 200 posts since they created their account in April last year. Kensington Palace gets an average of 300,000 likes every post, while Kate Middleton's post on her birthday had a whopping 1.2 million likes.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found a new charity, Archewell Foundation. But, they are still waiting for the COVID-19 pandemic to be gone before they reveal any further details about it or even launch their own social media account. Anyhow, their Sussex Royal account remains active, and it remains to be seen if they are going to delete it.

Its last post was made on March 31, the day they officially left the monarchy, to thank the community for its support, inspiration, and shared commitment. It also shared a tribute for mother's day and the advice the World Health Organization gave to avoid the spread of the COVID-19.

Express noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once again experienced criticisms when they announced their new organization amid the coronavirus outbreak in the U.K. and other countries. Also, at the time, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in the hospital, fighting for his life. Since then, they stopped talking about it and never revealed when it would be officially launched.
