The issues surrounding Prince Andrew seem to be getting worst, especially with the release of the Netflix documentary about Jeffrey Epstein. Aside from, allegedly, having something to hide, the Duke of York still has £6.7 million debt due to an outstanding payment for his and Sarah Ferguson's Swiss ski chalet. Will his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, pay for it?
A spokesperson revealed that Queen Elizabeth would not shoulder his millions of pounds debt. Although Sarah Ferguson claimed that the payment was coming, French socialite, Isabelle Bourlon de Rouvre, filed a debt claim against Prince Andrew for, allegedly, not paying her.
The property in question is called Chalet Helora. The seven-bedroom house is worth £16.6 million and also has an indoor swimming pool and sauna.
According to Standard, the Yorks used to rent the Verbier chalet during the holidays before they eventually decided to buy it in 2014. Out of the total amount, the 60-year-old royal should have paid Rouvre £6.7 million more by the New Year of this year.
Prince Andrew's spokesperson revealed that the property was put on the market to settle the payments. However, Queen Elizabeth has no plans to step in and settle the debt. When they have finally closed a deal, the sale will let them pay their outstanding debt.
Meanwhile, the issues surrounding the prince's connection with Jeffrey Epstein continue. The criminal sex offender's butler revealed that the duke might have something to hide after he disclosed that he used to set up the tables for the royal's "daily massages," The Sun noted.
Juan Alessi said Prince Andrew needed to speak to U.S. investigators about the disgraced financier's alleged victims, like Virginia Roberts. Roberts repeatedly claimed that Jeffrey Epstein used her as a sex slave and forced her to sleep with Andrew on three occasions, including the one when she was only 17.
Sarah Ferguson's ex-husband strongly denied the accusations, but Alessi believed that father-of-two had to talk to the investigators about it. He even told The Mirror that Prince Andrew might have something to hide.
Alessi started working for Jeffrey Epstein in 1991 at his controversial £7 million Palm Beach home in Florida. He was interview by the investigators when Epstein was arrested for underage abuse in 2006.
In 2009, he swore an oath in a civil case filed by "Jane Doe 2" against his boss. He declared another one again in 2016 in Roberts' civil case defamation against Ghislaine Maxwell, claiming that Prince Andrew was one of their regular guests.
Alessi claimed that he was the one who set up the massage tables for Prince Andrew every day during his extended stay at Jeffrey Epstein's waterfront home. In 2005, he gave a sworn statement to Palm Beach Police that Andrew spent weeks at the property and slept in the main guest room, called the blue room.
