Blindspot season 5 episode 4 is coming this week on NBC, with the title "And My Axe." This is a significant episode as it sees the return of Edgar Reade. The character died in the premiere episode but it looks like he's now coming back in certain ways.
The promo of Blindspot season 5 episode 4 teased that Reade appears to Zapata, which is probably a manifestation of what she's going through at the moment. She has dealt with a lot of traumatic experiences and one of which is losing Reade.
Entering this episode, we're going to see Zapata struggling to recover with everything she's undergone. She probably sees Reade in her vision as she longs for him. They went through a lot even before the explosion, but what's devastating is they didn't get the happy ending that they deserve.
Zapata now needs to deal with the aftermath of Reade, which is difficult for her. She is not emotionally stable, so she needs the support of the team. Her storyline will be further explored and we're probably going to see more Reade appearing in her visions or flashbacks.
Meanwhile, Blindspot season 5 episode 4 also sees the team looking back to their past to save the present and the future. But then, doing this is not that easy for them and some buried secrets might be uncovered. They synopsis notes they need to remember key details during their first day at the FBI.
The team will be looking back to their past to figure out how to stop a terrorist group from acquiring a deadly chemical weapon. They must remember the key details so the terrorist won't procure the weapon, which proved to be dangerous to everyone.
But what's interesting about this storyline is that we'll see the team navigating to where they all started. Given that this is the final run, the series celebrates its legacy and reflects some significant moments from the past. It's nice to see the characters diving back to where they began.
As for what else to expect, the episode will also deliver a personal story for Weller. He heard scary news about his daughter's health, making him worried. There's been a concern about her this season and it appears she's not in a good condition within this episode.
