Prince Philip just celebrated his birthday on June 10. The Duke of Edinburgh turned 99 years old and it’s something that everyone should celebrate about.

To mark his milestone, Buckingham Palace released a photo of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The public has not seen Duke of Edinburgh for a long time, so his birthday picture was something that royal fans had been anticipating.

However, some noticed that the photo seems to had been digitally manipulated. Others were convinced that Prince Philip’s new picture was photoshopped. Some fans even claimed that the snap was edited for health-related reasons.

"Why is this photo fake? Are the Queen and Prince Philip ok??? Are you hiding something?" one wrote. "If Phil is too ill to be out taking photos just use a throwback pic,” another one shared.

Back in December, Prince Philip was admitted at King Edward VIII Hospital to undergo treatment for a pre-existing condition. To ensure his recovery, Queen Elizabeth’s husband had to stay in the hospital for a few days.

Prince Philip stayed in the hospital for four nights, and he was finally cleared to go home on December 24. He left King Edward VII's hospital in central London at 8.49 am and was driven to Buckingham Palace and flown by helicopter to Sandringham in Norfolk.

A lot of royal fans have been worried about Prince Philip’s health since he is in his late 90s and is visibly weaker. But many were relieved and happy after seeing Queen Elizabeth’s husband walking out of the hospital on his own without major assistance. Prince Philip then smiled and waved to the medical staff, and even shook the hand of the nurse who accompanied him to his car.

As for Queen Elizabeth, she had a knee operation back in 2003. A Palace source revealed that Her Majesty told a friend in 2018 that her “knees were playing up.” However, she didn’t want to undergo an operation as she believed it would keep her from completing her obligations.

Shamir Patel, leading pharmacist and founder of Chemist 4 U, said that Queen Elizabeth might worsen her condition if she keeps ignoring it. The expert explained that most of the complications happened when an issue was encountered shortly after the surgery. It was previously reported that Queen Elizabeth already distributed some of her duties, especially her tours overseas, to the younger royals.
