By this time, Erling Haaland would have been a rising superstar in the Premier League had he accepted the offer from Manchester United. The young striker, however, chose to play in Bundesliga in January but a fellow Norwegian is expecting to see Haaland in England soon but not with the Red Devils.

According to Jan Age Fjortoft, who played with Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, in Norway, the Borussia Dortmund ace is having a grand time impressing everyone in Germany but eventually, he will find his way back to England.

The marksman, already with 14 goals in all his Bundesliga matches, was born in England when his father suited up with Leeds United. Fjortoft said it's not hard to see that Leeds will be on top of the list should Haaland decide to give it another go in the Premier League.

Or the prolific goalscorer can pick Anfield as his next destination, added Fjortoft, who The Sun reported acts as a mentor to the young Norwegian.

"He would be a good fit for any club and for Liverpool he is good - when he speaks about United, he speaks about Leeds United. I think he'll end up in England at some stage, but he is 19 and we should make space to have five games without scoring," the former Norway international was reported as saying.

United not on the radar of Haaland seemed strange as the Bundesliga star is known to have a good relationship with club boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The two worked before at Monde back in Norway and the youngster credited his former coach as instrumental to his rise as a fearsome finisher in the game.

The 19-year-old, however, admitted that choosing Dortmund over United was easy as he just felt that the Bundesliga was the perfect match for him.

Haaland, likewise, cited the uncertainty surrounding Old Trafford during the time that Solskjaer was wooing him. Talks were rife that the manager could be sacked anytime so the youngster thought he would not be working with his old coach eventually.

Liverpool, on the other hand, had no chance to get Haaland when the race was on to sign the former RB Salzburg star. As recounted by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, making a bid on the striker was unrealistic at that time.

"We couldn't have got him. It's as easy as that. He wanted a top team, as soon as possible, with an open space," Metro reported the German boss as saying.

It was apparent then that Haaland wanted a shot at Champions League fame and he got that with Dortmund, which happened to have an available spot. The youngster shone with the Bundesliga in the UCL and clearly, Haaland got what he wished for, Klopp noted.
