Following the reports that Philippe Coutinho has reached to Jurgen Klopp for the German to accept him back at Liverpool, Roberto Firmino gave his support on the move that could potentially reunite the two Brazilians next season. Firmino liked an Instagram post that suggested Coutinho for his way back to Anfield after leaving mid-season in 2018.

The social media post indicated that Coutinho, who struggled to make his mark in Barcelona and was ship out on loan to Bayern Munich this season, is looking to play with the Reds again. The attacking midfielder is said to be willing to take a significant pay cut for Klopp's serious consideration.

The reaction made by Firmino is not unexpected at all. Besides sharing the same nationality, the two hit off while playing for Liverpool, according to Metro, and became close friends even after Coutinho's surprise departure after more than two years.

There is no doubt that Firmino is keen to see his old pal wearing red again, but that happening will all depend on the decision by Klopp.

Taking his former No. 10 should be easy for the German boss, but doing so will come at a heavy price, possibly no less than £100 million in transfer fee and £250,000 in weekly salary. Such a huge expense is something that Anfield might be unwilling to make at the moment as Klopp himself admitted that the game suspensions due to the COVID-19 outbreak will lead to big losses for Liverpool.

Coutinho, however, has offered to take a lower salary to make it easier for the Anfield to decide. His camp has confirmed about the pay cut and explained that the offer was made to prove that the Barcelona man wants to transfer to be completed the soonest.

Commenting on the latest piece of news, Steve Nicol called on Liverpool to get the winger back to England if indeed the cut-price deal has been offered.

Nicol, who played as a defender for the Reds, said the deal should be "a no-brainer" for the side of Klopp.

"I can't think of one reason why you wouldn't ... The only place he's excelled at is Liverpool. The place loves him, he loves the place," Sport Bible reported the Liverpool hero as saying.

Nicol added that inserting Coutinho back to the roster is the best time for the Reds given the failure to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. It' unimaginable too how the talented winger will figure in a side that is bound to win the Premier League title this season.
