Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have been always rumored to be getting married, probably since they made their relationship public in 2016. Up to this day, the speculations remain the same: Taylor and Joe are tying the knot.
Star published new speculation this week, claiming the "Lover" singer is planning a secret wedding with Alwyn. The tabloid alleged that the couple can no longer wait for the lockdown to be lifted and have a formal wedding.
A source told the outlet the pair are both excited to have a private wedding. It also accompanied the story with a photo of Taylor and Joe walking hand-in-hand in black tie dress and captioned it, "low-key vows!"
Gossip Cop dismissed the rumor as another of those that have been plaguing the couple for years. First of all, the publication noted that the photo of the "Shake It Off" singer and Alwyn that Star used was actually taken during their attendance at the BAFTAs last year.
Gossip Cop also recalled when Swift said in an E! interview last year that she will not talk about her romance with the press. She explained that she has learned from experience that if she opened up about her private life, people would think it's up for discussion. Taylor stressed that her relationship isn't up for discussion and it's no else business.
The outlet added that Star has a reputation for making up stories about Taylor. A few months ago, it claimed Swift and Katy Perry were racing each other to the altar. The tabloid insisted that the "You Need To Calm Down" singer and Joe have secretly gotten engaged and Taylor won't allow Perry to outdone her wedding.
The same tabloid also claimed in December that Taylor and the Harriet actor broke up. It implied that Joe broke with Swift because he knows that he will be in the shadow of his girlfriend regardless of what he does.
There was also a rumor that Swift is considering moving in with The Favourite actor in London. Another tabloid speculated that Swift was planning to marry Alwyn in a North London pub. Gossip Cop debunked both rumors.
The only thing that is certain at the moment about Taylor and Joe is that they are quarantining together. Alwyn earlier shared in his Instagram some photos of Swift's cat, Benjamin Button.
He also posted a photo of himself holding a glass of wine, just days after Taylor also shared a picture of her in an almost similar wine-theme. These photos were enough for their fans to stop assuming that they are not together while on lockdown.
