One of the most interesting things in Magnum P.I. season 3 is a potential Hawaii Five-0 crossover. Both shows exist in the same universe, so it would be nice to see some of the characters of the latter series appearing, given that the show officially concluded.
The possible crossover in Magnum P.I. season 3 is with Kamekona, Duke, or Noelani since the characters are played by local actors. Yet, it's also nice to see other characters making an appearance, including Katrina Law's Quinn Liu.
During the crossover, there's a hint of chemistry between her and Rick. The latter probably tries to make something happen, provided that the situation is right. But then, one of the major challenges is finding a way to get Quinn back in the story.
It would be hard to create something between Rick and Quinn unless the latter sticks around and becomes a series regular. As per CarterMatt, guest stars' availability is one of the reasons why romantic relationships are hard within the world of Hawaii Five-0.
So while it would be nice to see Rick having another storyline aside from dealing with his bar, this is something that may not happen right away. Moreover, nothing is confirmed when it comes to the potential Hawaii Five-0 crossover.
But apart from that, there's also a question about a possible MacGyver crossover. Both shows have already done separate crossovers with Hawaii Five-0 and it would be nice to see the two coming together. So, will Magnum P.I. season 3 finally feature a MacGyver crossover?
Creatively, Mac and Magnum could become friends instantly. It would be nice to see these two working on a particular mission. They could share stories about different adventures and band together to take down common enemies.
In addition, crossovers tend to be successful ratings-wise, so there's a possibility the network will consider this. However, there is also a major challenge when it comes to this crossover. Both series film on different locations and scheduling could be an issue as well.
According to CarterMatt, the MacGyver crossover may happen at some point but not in Magnum P.I. season 3. Right now, the priority of these shows is going back into production. Because of the current global health crisis, the two series are facing uncertainties when it comes to their arrival.
For Magnum P.I. season 3, the series is part of the CBS fall schedule. However, it should be noted that the network isn't specifying as to when the show is officially coming back. While it was listed in the "fall" schedule, there's no guarantee when will it arrive.
