The Bold Type season 4 episode 16 is coming next month on Freeform, with the title "Not Far from the Tree." Just like any other shows out there, the series also shuts down filming because of the coronavirus pandemic. Because of that, this particular episode will now serve as the season finale.
The Bold Type season 4 episode 16 wasn't meant to be the original finale of the season, but the Freeform series opted to go on an alternative direction due to the global health crisis. The original plan is that the current season will have 18 episodes, but that won't happen this time around.
There's no way to film the remaining two episodes, given that production has been halted. Perhaps, the stories here could be carried out in the fifth installment. But then, it remains to be seen whether this will happen since the network hasn't renewed the series as of this writing.
As for how the fourth installment will end, it looks like there will be huge discoveries for most of the characters. For instance, Kat will have a new romance. Jane, on the other hand, will have a big boost in her career. There are a lot of stories that could further play out here.
According to the synopsis of The Bold Type season 4 episode 16, Sutton will be visiting her hometown. However, things get complicated when she falls into a familiar pattern while spending time there. Meanwhile, Kate has a new romance but she's reluctant to share it with Jane and Sutton.
As for Jane, she finds a big story, but this could have a serious ramification for Jacqueline. It's yet to be seen whether or not this episode will leave a huge cliffhanger, given that the episode wasn't meant to be the original season finale.
If ever the series will be renewed for the fifth installment, it may not be arriving anytime soon. Because of the real-life health crisis, cast and crew won't be able to start working immediately. Everything depends on the situation, they could begin filming when things get a little bit better.
