All of the BTS members are amazing dancers, but J-Hope is considered to be the leader. Even the members said that J-Hope plays an important role in their dance training.

J-Hope was a part of the underground dance team Neuron and took dance classes at Gwangju Music Academy before joining BTS. Prior to his debut, he is already known for his dancing skills and won various local dance competitions. He even placed first in a national dance competition in 2008.

Fans even noted multiple times that they have not seen J-Hope slip-up in BTS’s choreography. Now, the BTS rapper’s throwback videos proved why he’s the group’s dance leader.

A childhood friend of J-Hope who went to the same academy unveiled videos of his dancing skills before he became a trainee. The never-before-seen clips of the BTS star showcased his undeniable talent.

One video showed a very young J-Hope auditioning for the dance academy. Despite his young age, the “Chicken Noodle Soup” hitmaker already mastered the art of popping. The two other videos then revealed an older J-Hope, showing a more defined and cleaner dance line.

The throwback videos confirmed that J-Hope is not only a born dancer, but he is someone who worked extremely hard to hone his skills. The childhood friend even shared that the BTS star was always good at dancing, but he never stopped practicing.

J-Hope’s high school teacher even previously confirmed his “Golden Hyung” status. He said that before the BTS star became successful, his talent had always been above average.

“Hoseok already had the talent that is above the standard of average students,” the teacher said. “Hoseok not only displays his talent, but he was also able to set goals and was willing to work hard to achieve them.”

A former idol trainer also explained why J-Hope is the main dancer of BTS even though Jimin was a top student in Busan arts high school from all departments. He summed up J-Hope’s dance style with one word: precision. He also pointed out that the BTS star is very effortless when he dances, making it appear that the choreography is easier than it actually is

Meanwhile, J-Hope is a very reliable member of BTS. Even though he enjoys being silly, he knows when to get serious. In fact, RM said that he considers J-Hope to be the second leader of BTS. Jin also awarded him in their 2020 Season’s Greetings as the “Next Leader."
