When Prince Harry was still single, he had been the constant third wheel of Prince William and Kate Middleton. But since the three royals were extremely close, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge always enjoyed having the younger prince around during formal and informal events.
Every royal fan knows that Prince William and Prince Harry had a tight bond since they were young boys. When Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family in 2011, many were worried that her presence will affect the closeness of the royal brothers. Fortunately, that didn’t happen as Kate seamlessly joined the bond, and they quickly became “The Royal Trio.”
Prince Harry and Kate Middleton’s close relationship was proven even more when the Duke of Sussex called her the big sister he never had in a 2017 interview. The younger brother of Prince William also hinted in 2018 how much he respects his sister-in-law by asking for her approval before marrying Meghan Markle. He wanted Kate to meet the former actress, so she would know her before they tie the knot.
Unfortunately, things changed when Prince Harry finally married Meghan Markle. The rift between the couples quickly circulated when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex removed themselves from the joint foundation with the Cambridges.
There earlier this month, Prince Harry announced that he will merge his Endeavour Fund charity, which was held under The Royal Foundation ran by Prince William and Kate Middleton, with his Invictus Games event.
The Endeavour Fund was first established by Prince Harry in 2012. At the time, he, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were patrons of The Royal Foundation. With the announcement of the merge, this means that the Duke of Sussex is now cutting further ties with his brother and sister-in-law.
"Just when you thought the Duke of Sussex couldn't get any more removed from royal life, he made another choice that further distances himself from his family,” Online magazine Nicki Swift reported. “And this time, the shakeup has to do with his charities.”
As expected, fans who love the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry needed to blame someone for the fallout. Since the rift started when Meghan Markle joined the royal family, she was the easiest target.
A lot of royal fans believe that Meghan Markle should exert some effort into fitting in with the royal family and not the other way around. Some thought that the reason why the Duchess of Sussex is having a hard time building a relationship with the other members of the royal family is that she didn’t have a relationship with her own family.
