Prince Charles, reportedly, had some apprehensions about Meghan Markle joining the royal family, as claimed by a royal author. Nigel Cawthorne, whose book Prince Andrew, Epstein and the Palace was published this June, said that Prince Harry's father admired his daughter-in-law but there was just this one problem.
Apparently, the Prince of Wales feared that there is "only room for one strong royal woman." That woman is no one else but Prince Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth.
Prince Charles reportedly saw Meghan as a strong woman with a backbone that could be good for Prince Harry. In fact, the Prince of Wales had a nickname for his second daughter-in-law. He loved to refer to her as tungsten as a term of endearment, according to The Sun.
Cawthorne reiterated that there's only one strong woman in the royal family but Meghan, paired with Prince Harry, apparently drew a kind of popularity that could become a problem for The Firm. Prince Charles wanted to do more for the Sussex couple but also feared that it would cause an upset for the other royals, especially the Queen, so he kept in line with tradition and order.
Meanwhile, another royal author said that Prince Harry might not have been allowed to marry had Meghan been a white American TV star. Lady Colin Campbell claimed that Meghan, being biracial, was actually good for the royal family.
In her book Meghan And Harry: The Real Story, which were distributed in advance to some members of the press, Campbell claimed that it actually served in the Duchess of Sussex's favor that she was a woman of color. Her presence helped the royal family appear modernized when she became a royal herself.
Campbell also revealed that Meghan has been aspiring her status from the start and that she also planned to run of the President of the United States even before Prince Harry came into her life. Allegedly, Meghan believes that her move to Los Angeles with Prince Harry was destined because, now, she can be a more active voice in the political scene.
In recent weeks, Meghan is said to be talking to those involved with the Black Live Matter movement, thought leaders and community leaders to be educated on the social problems in America. A source said that Meghan sees her real mission and it's not going back to acting in Hollywood but stepping up the political platform.
