Melania Trump once again faced the ire of social media users after she visited the Korean War Memorial with her husband, President Donald Trump. After she posted a Tweet about their activity, the First Lady of the United States was criticized for failing to wear a mask, just like the POTUS, amid the continuous surge of coronavirus cases in the country.
Donald and Melania Trumop honored the veterans of the Korean War to mark its 70th anniversary since the conflict started. They laid a wreath at the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C., per Express.
She then posted their photo from the memorial, telling what they did and what the activity was all about. After she said that they paid their respects to the brave Americans who died while fighting for everyone's freedom, the post received a lot of criticisms as they failed to wear face masks.

One Twitter user said that it would have been more respectful of them if they wore their face coverings. Another one added that their actions were reckless, knowing the veterans' advanced ages, making them susceptible to the disease, while they had traveled to other infected areas in the country.
Another netizen questioned Donald and Melania Trump's move not to protect their wellbeing by wearing masks. They were also accused of being selfish and disrespectful for not donning any face covering.
Melania Trump's failure to wear a mask sharply contradicted her claim that it could help decrease the spread of coronavirus in the country. In a post on Instagram, she talked about the CDC's recommendation to wear cloth face coverings in public settings, where social distancing measures could be hard to follow and maintain, as the public health institute continued to study the dissemination of the virus at the time.
She also added that wearing face masks did not mean that social distancing would never be imposed. It was only recommended to keep everyone safe from the continuous spread of the disease.
Meanwhile, according to Meaww, Melania Trump could be often seen not wearing a mask if she was with Donald Trump. According to the experts, the reason behind it could probably because the former television personality refused to wear a mask himself whether he was out in public or giving a speech in front of the press.
Donald Trump, reportedly, found wearing a mask as a sign of weakness. So, although Melania Trump released PSA videos on social media about the importance of using a face covering, she still failed to follow her own advice.
