WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Dark season 3. Read at your own risk.

At the moment, there is no confirmation that Dark season 4 is happening. In fact, it's unlikely that it will happen since the previously-released installment serves as the final run of the German sci-fi thriller series. The show was originally set to have three seasons only.

It also seems like there's no need for a Dark season 4, largely because the majority of the loose ends have been tied and that's satisfying already. Although it's hard to lose a show that loved by many, it is still important it should end on its own term.

The ending of the final installment makes sense and doesn't need to have Dark season 4 at all. The series is also great since it is not rushed and things aren't stretched out. It gives viewers a good sense of the story, making them feel satisfied.

If ever Dark season 4 is happening, there should be stories under the right circumstances. But then, the series has already delivered a clear ending. Most of the mysteries have been solved, so there's really no need to bring the show back for more.

Rather than waiting for Dark season 4, the events that happened in the final season were intense and exciting. Preventing Tannhaus from making the apparatus is the only way to destroy the time loop. Claudia explained this to Adam to guide Martha and Jonas in the original world and stop the car crash.

Martha and Jonas went to the original universe through the cave's passageway to complete their final mission -- but there's a twist. If they prevent the car crash from happening and stop the creating of the time-traveling apparatus, all who are born in the time loop wouldn't exist in the original world.

That means both of them, as well as Charlotte, Noah, and a lot more, will not exist -- which is a big sacrifice. This is the only way to save their loved ones from suffering inside the time loop, including their mothers Katharina and Hannah.

Martha and Jonas ended up choosing the right choice; stopping the car crash which inspired Tannhaus to create the time-traveling apparatus. Hence, all of the people tied to the knots vanished from the world in a heart-wrenching scene.

But before the series officially conclude, it was revealed that Hannah was pregnant. She went on a dinner with Katharina, Benni, Regina, and Peter Doppler and all of them talked about déjà vu. And when Katharina asked Hannah what's the name of her baby, the latter said Jonas is a beautiful name.
