Yellowstone season 3 episode 3 is coming this week on Paramount Network, with the title "An Acceptable Surrender." It will likely pick up the cliffhanger in the previous episode, wherein Jamie Dutton seemed to be in a delicate position.
Jamie has been given the opportunity to become the new Livestock Commissioner, but he now finds himself dealing with an unfortunate bind after receiving a certain phone call from prison. Entering Yellowstone season 3 episode 3, we could see the character making a tough decision.
In the previous episode, Sweetgrass County Attorney Randy Harper called Jamie and told him to handle the muggers who jumped on two racers and stole their rides and things. Jamie sent Livestock Agent Steve Hendon to take care of the matter.
Hendon punished the thieves by packing them in the trailer. He drove violently and pushed the brakes, swerving several times while the thieves were thrown against the walls of the trailer. Jamie received a call from the Sweetgrass County Jail and they informed him that Hendon accidentally killed the thieves.
Based on the synopsis, Jamie needs to play cover-up and damage control with Hendon. However, he recognized that this is not easy. He could jeopardize his own position, so he has to make a very wise decision. If not, it could be the end of his career.
And while he is working to clean this mess, other Dutton members are also dealing with their own mess. Some of these are tied to Roarke Morris and his group. He has a particular plan, and it's something that could devastate the land for good.
If they take the offer, the family will be rich in the short-term, but their future might be jeopardized. They have to make a choice, but it's clear that John Dutton will do whatever he can to save the land. The place is dear to his heart, so he'll stop whoever wants to destroy the land.
As for what else is coming in Yellowstone season 3 episode 3, Governor Perry hears the $6 billion pitch for a development right for the land. Later on, he makes some political maneuvers. Jimmy, on the other hand, will be competing in a rodeo competition.
Meanwhile, Josh Holloway's Roarke is not the only new character in the third installment. Jennifer Landon's Teeter is also the newest addition in the series and she's set to bring new troubles for the family. She was introduced in the second episode.
Yellowstone season 3 episode 3 airs on Sunday night, July 5, on Paramount Channel.
